Today I opened an email sent to me from a brother containing pornographic files و الله المستعان It was not from him of course but through some hackers or these mufsidoon spreading their evil. I informed the brother and he was shocked and paniced. I said to him it is an obvious crime and never came from you and we never had evil thoughts from the begining that it could have been from him as we have the best of thoughts with our salafi brothers and sisters. So if any of us receive the likes of these emails with our contacts names as the senders then we know where they are from. حفظنا الله و اياكم من كل سوء

As Salaamu 'Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah,
To add that recently my computer was attacked in a similar way and I would stress that the Brothers and indeed the Sisters should equip their computers with anti-virus software. This will inshaAllah protect against the untold viruses that are being unleashed every day, the so called Trojans in particular.
Just like any open-door media the computer through the internet can be a tool for those that wish to create mischief.

it should also be known that the address that appears as the "sender" in the email header may not be the actual sender, and this is something that creates a lot of confusion...see this:

There is a good way for brothers and sisters to see how exposed they are to any online attacks from hackers, as well as seeing if a virus is present on their computer.
Symantec security check
The link may not work for all people as it does require an upto-date java enabled browser. However generally the results of both the security and virus check are very beneficial, mashaAllaah.

barakallaahu feekum. Another solution, for those who are computer savy, is to switch to Linux. Most, if not all, computer viruses are written for MS. Linux offers protection from this, wallaahu 'alim. But remember, only undertake the switch if you know what you are doing.
