You can see ?alrawi? the "narrator " said that ?this hadeeth is ?hasan and strange?
That's at-Tirmithee, the collector, who said that, and his statement "hasan ghareeb" is not an absolute indication to its weakness in itslef.
The other problem with this hadeeth is that Salman had died b4 even Abu zibyan was born and this conflict was clearly pointed out in the hadeeth
Notice that at-Tirmithee said that Muhammad ibn Ismaa'eel (al-Bukhaaree) said that Aboo Thabyaan did not reach Salmaan. That's sufficient to make the hadeeth munqati', thus weak. Furthermore, Qaaboos, the son of Aboo Thabyaan, was declared weak by Aboo Haatim, an-Nasaa'ee, and Ibn Hibbaan. See Silsilah al-Ahaadeeth adh-Dha'eefah (#2029).
NOTE: The reference printed in the Sunan of at-Tirmithee with al-Albaanee's checking to the Silsilah #2020 is wrong, so fix it if you have it.

I just noticed that you were asking about the hadeeth being mawdhoo' (fabricated)...
The hadeeth that is mawdhoo' is that which is narrated by a kath-thaab, and this hadeeth is munqati' with a weak narrator, thus dha'eef. If someone claims that the hadeeth is mawdhoo', then let him identify the liar in the chain and mention who called him a liar... Otherwise, we just understand it to be dha'eef, and Allaah knows best.
