assalaamu alaykum,
i have heard the name of this shaykh recently and also on this forum, does anyone know anything about him? who is his teacher/students, if he is a scholar or senior taalibul 'ilm etc.

wa 'alaykumus-salaamu wa rahmatullaah -
Shaykh Wasee Allaah, a graduate of higher studies at the Islaamic University of Al-Madeenah, is now a teacher of higher studies in the Kitaab and Sunnah Department of the College of Da'wah at Umm Al-Quraa University in Makkah. He also has a chair at the Haram where he teaches 6 days a week, some days in Urdu, some days in Arabic. Shaykh Rabee' recommends him and advises the students to take knowledge from him.
He has answered a number of questions for www.bakkah.net, and they have been translated and can be found in the bakkah.net Q&A section. Most of his Q&As are found in the fiqh section. May Allaah reward him well.

Is anyone aware of any urdu lectures by the shaykh Wasiullah, either on the net or on cassette?
If so, can you tell me from where I could obtain them inshaa'Allah.

Shiekh Dr. Abu Usaama Wasiyullaah ibn Muhammad 'Abbass mentioned to us in his teaching of Saheeh al Bukhaaree that he benefited from the likes of Sheikh Dr. Taqiuddine al Hillaali al Maghrabi whom he said was very strong in the Arabic language. He also benefited from the likes of Sheikh Hammad al Ansaari (min Tchad, excellent biography and his own journey in talabul Ilm from Tchad to Madinah available of himself at Asaala salafi tape store Jeddah. A REAL MUST!) rahimahullaah who is well known amongst the mashayakh and students of knowledge. Sheikh Wasiyullaah said he had the privelege to have the key to sheikh Hammad's huge library and would read to him and that he gave him a tazkiyah.
Sheikh Wasiyullaah hafidhahu llaah has also benefited from Sheikh Muhammad Abdulwahhab Marzooq al Banna hafidahullaah. As our beloved brother Musa Richardson has said Sheikh Rabee' hafidahullaah praises him. Infact, i remember one time after Sheikh Wasiyullaah's Bukhaaree class, we saw sheikh Rabee' hafidahu llaah and he was very pleased that we were studying with sheikh Wasiyullaah as he smiled and spoke about where we were in the book.
Sheikh Wasiyullaah is very active in the field of da'wah mashaallaah, He has completed the checking of Fadaail as-Sahaba of Imam Ahmed which comes in 2 volumes (Dar ibn Jawzi print).
No doubt the shiekh has benefited from other mashayakh that i cannot recall now but this is a glimpse on one of the mashayakh of this salafi da'wah. He isd very very very beneficial mashaalllaah, in Arabic, ilm al Hadeeth, narrators, Fiqh, issues of 'Aqeedah and manhaj...
I remember a jalsa held in Jeddah last year where he attended along with Sheikh Ahmed Tufayl of Yemen and when asked about the fitnah at that time (Abul Hasan) he said I say what Sheikh Rabee' has said and that is it is upon Abul Hasan to take back his errors. (I have this on tape).
May Allaah bless our scholars and bless us to be at their feet and learn the deen upon sincerity have true walaa love for ahlu sunnah and its scholars. This will come with knowledge. As sheikh Obayd hafidahullaah says that the khair that is seen that Allaah gives to a person is beneficial knowledge as in the hadeeth of Mu'awiyyah ibn Abee Sufyaan radiallaahu 'anhu.
