Can anyone shed some light on who Miraj Rabbani is and his background.
I am aware that he is an urdu speaker who resides in Saudi Arabia. He recently came to the UK as an invited speaker of the Markazi Jam'iat Ahl-e-Hadith UK.
But I know very little about his background.
In the UK many people are promoting him as a Salafee speaker.
He gives (or used to give) lectures in Saudia Arabia so maybe one of our brothers maybe able to help (Insha'Allaah).

All praises and thanks be to Allah ](sub'haana hu wa ta'ala) , the Rabb of Aalameen.May peace and blessings of Allah (sub'haana hu wa ta'ala) be upon the noble Messenger Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam ), his family , his companions (ridhwaanullahi alaihim ajmaa'een), and all those who follow him till the Day of Ressurrection.
Jazakallahu Khair for asking about this person ya abaa Bilal.
I wanted to respond earlier but I was waiting to see if anyone else who
knows this man better than me would do. Sub'haan Allah I wanted to mention
few things about this person which is very important not only for those in the UK but aswell as in India.
Meraj Rabbani is one of the most popular speakers of Jamiyyath Ahle Hadees Hind whose effect upon the common masses is very huge especially his speeches against Tableeghees and Barelwees. He is very well known in India as a speaker from Jamiyyath Ahle Hadees Hind.
He is a member of the shura of Dal Ul Iftah wal Irshad here in Bangalore , where fatwas are issued to common people.As he himself states in one of his tape that we have in our possession( Islam and grave worshipping) that he has reverted from Barelwiyyah.We have met him couple of times here in Bangalore when he was present during Ramadhan in 2000.But at that time we were ourselves not aware of the manhaj us salaf.After we understood there hasn't been any contact with Meraj Rabbani.I also know his teacher who
visits Bangalore during Ramadhan.His tapes are distributed by the hizb Ahya on their urdu website ahlehadees.com.You can also find a link to his website from this site.
We do not recall a single instance where he has pointed out or even hinted us the issues of manhaj nor has he ever spoken about Dawah Salafiyyah and most importantly I do not know any of his tapes criticizing the Jamiyyath Ahle Hadees Hind and their errors in manhaj.
He never ever introduced us to Dawah Salafiyyah. So we say, we do not know him except to be a speaker of this Jamiyyath Ahle Hadees Hind.
Hence as our brother Abu Mu'awiya mentions in one of his posts, that the salafees are clear wheresoever they are, we say we do not know if he is upon the manhaj and a caller to Dawah Salafiyyah and we only view him to be a speaker for Jamiyyath Ahle Hadees Hind.This is my personal opinion.
He has a bookstore where audios/videos are sold, run by his brother.He was adviced on several occasions not to sell the books of Jamaluddin Zorobozo, Salih Al Munajjid, tapes of Bilal Philips but he has never taken our advice inspite of me showing him the statements of Shaikh Ubayd (hafidhahullah) regarding Bilal Philips. We don't know if Meraj Rabbani is
aware of this.
Meraj Rabbani speaks against deobandees, barelwees and I have also heard
his tapes against Shias and Jamiath Islami but not a single tape on the
issues of manhaj us salaf nor on DawatusSalafiyyah.
If anyone can approach him and speak to him then his present condition will
be known Insha Allah.
Another popular speaker for the Jamiyyath Ahle Hadees Hind, is Zafar Ul Hasan Madani who was here in December. His speech was exclusively against the salafees(those who have turned to the way of the salaf) in Bangalore and this person visits India from U.A.E. I have translated his speech which was in Urdu which will be posted soon Insha Allah.
Anything good is from Allah and all mistakes are most assuredly mine,
its a praisworthy quality to remind your brother of his mistakes for
verily, reminder profits the believers and Insha Allah I will be open
to correct myself.

Our da?wah and our ?aqeedah is more beloved to us than our own selves, our wealth and our offspring. So we are not prepared to part with it for gold, nor silver. We say this so that no one may have hope in buying out our da?wah, nor should he think that it is possible for him to purchase it from us for deenaar or dirham. Since the politicians already know this about us, so they have despaired of buying it from us with granted positions or wealth..Shaikh, the Allamah, Muqbil ibn Hadee Al Waa'di'ee (Rahimahullah).
