Shaykh Saalih al-Fowzaan (may Allaah preserve him) was asked this morning, the 21st of Sha'baan, 1430, at King Su'ood Masjid in Jeddah about women who had miscarriages in the early stages of their pregnancy.
He answered that if a woman had a miscarriage in the first 80 days before the baby takes the shape of a human being, then she has no nifaas (post-natal bleeding) period. If she misunderstood the issue and stopped praying because of nifaas in such a case, then she has to make up all the missed prayers.
If she had the miscarriage after the first 80 days, then the bleeding after it would be considered nifaas.
