What is the balanced position concerning the killing of Usamah Bin Laden as there were those who were delighted with his killing and those who said that he was a Mujaahid and they judged him to have achieved martyrdom?
The Shaykh responded: "How is he a Mujaahid! Yes, he was a Mujaahid in the path of the devil. Usamah Ibn Laden brought a great deal of evil to the Muslims and there is no doubt that his departure will bring them ease; the people will be more at ease due to his departure."

Some people say that the present day organisation (known as) Al-Qaaýidah are Khawaarij and others say that they are Mujaahidoon (performing Jihaad) what is the position of your eminence concerning this?
Answer:
Yes they are Mujaahidoon (struggling and fighting) in the path of the devil.
Brothers and sisters, previously I received e-mails where people were surprised with the Shaykhýs stance on the killing of Bin Laden. In reality no one should be amazed as the Shaykh has only stated what has previously been mentioned by the Imams of Ahl Us Sunnah from the likes of Ibn Taymiyyah that anyone who traverses upon the path of the Khawaarij is fighting in the path of the devil, even though they believe that their actions are pleasing to Allah.
Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allaah have mercy upon him) said:
ýHowever, it is obligatory to differentiate between the legislated Jihaad which Allaah and His Messenger has commanded and the innovated Jihaad which is the Jihaad (waged by) misguided individuals who perform Jihaad in obedience to the devil but they believe that they are performing Jihaad in obedience to The Most Merciful (Ar‐Rahmaan). This is like the Jihaad of the people of innovation and desires such as the Khawaarij and other than them who fight against the people of Islamýý
