This is very beneficial, maa shaa' Allaah.  Akhee Amr, jazaak Allaahu khayran.  I am going through my library as we speak, and it needs this kind of istidraak!

Could I add a 24 1/2 or 24.5?  That would be the new sharh of Kitaab At-Tawheed by Shaykh Saalih Al-Fowzaan called Al-Mulakh-khas fee Sharhi Kitaabit-Tawheed.  Its from Daar Al-'Aasimah, 1422.  It is very concise and designed just for beginners, its only one regular sized volume (400+ pages).  He summarizes each section in a series of numbered benefits from each aayah or hadeeth, very easy and beneficial to read.

I would hope that you could publish this series (in 'Arabic) if possible, may Allaah make that easy on you.

May Allaah reward you generously yaa Abaa Ubaidah!

Regarding the book Aqeedatul-Waasitiyyah you mentioned:

"30-explained by saalih al-fawzaan, 227 pages 1413/al-ma?aairf"

Are you sure it's 227 pages? I have a copy published by Daarus-salaam and it's only 173 pages. Does it differ from publisher to publisher? Baarakallaahu feek.

i re-checked and it is that many pages. from what i remember the dar us-salam editon's introduction is exactly the same but the book was typed in a different script and my pages have quite wide margins. as far as i know the shaikh has never revised it since he wrote it about 15 years ago.

quote:

May Allaah reward you for this excellent series. However, it is worth mentioning that this book, Qurratu ?Uyoon al-Muwahhideen, is an explanation of Kitaab ut-Tawheed, not Thalaathatu ul-Usool. I have a copy and the details are as follows:

قرة عيون الموحّدين في تحقيق دعوة الأنبياء والمرسلين
By ?Abdur-Rahmaan Bin Hasan Aal ash-Shaykh, 278 pages, 1420/Maktabat Daar ul-Bayaan (مكتبة دار البيان)

Some points to note:
  • The introduction is written by ?Abdul-Qaadir al-Arnaa?oot. There is a post somewhere on this forum speaking about him, so refer to it.
  • The reviewer of the book, named Basheer Muhammad ?Uyoon, sometimes brings comments from Muhammad Rasheed Riddaa in his footnotes, so beware. For those who don?t know, Muhammad Rasheed Riddaa is actually the one who innovated ?Bannaa?s Principle? into the religion of Allaah. Hasan al-Bannaa took the principle from his magazine, al-Manaar, and made it the foundation of his sect.

And Allaah knows best.

One additional point: Shaykh 'Abdul-'Azeez Bin Baaz رحمه الله included many excerpts from Qurratu 'Uyoon in his footnotes for Fath ul-Majeed. In other words, those wishing to benefit from both explanations without buying two separate books should purchase a copy of Fath ul-Majeed with the notes of Shaykh Bin Baaz. I personally have a copy printed by Daar us-Salaam Riyadh (476 pages) and I am positive that it has been printed by other publishers as well.

As-Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuhu!

Some of the above mentioned books are very difficult to find, do you think any of the tullab would be able to assist the muslims in other lands who don't have the ability to find these priceless books in their locality to get them for them, for a nominal fee and post them as well. it could be some extra cash for the tullab and they would be assisting the muslims in attaining much khayr. As well as any known tapes that would accompany those books.

Some of the books seem to be very rare and would be a tremendous ni3mah to obtain them and benefit from them like:

11-explained by ibn baaz, 88 pages 1418/daar al-maseer
12-explained by zayd bin haadi al-madkhali, 255 pages 1422/al-furqaan
13-explained by abd ur-rahmaan bin qaasim, 100 pages 1415/daar ul-iftaa
14-explained by abd ur-rahmaan bin hasan aal-shaikh titled qurratu uyoon al-muwahiddeen fi tahqeeq dawah al-anbiyyah wal mursaleen

Kitaab at-tawheed

25-explained by abd ur-rahmaan bin hasan aal-shaikh titled haashiyah

al-aqeedah al-waasitiyyah
30-explained by saalih al-fawzaan, 227 pages 1413/al-ma?aairf

Al-aqeedah al-hamawiyyah

31-Summarised and additions by Muhammad al-uthaymeen titled fath rabb ul-bariyyah bi talkhees al-hamawiyyah, 87 pages 1414/daar ath-thurayaa

العقيدة التدمرية
al-aqeedah at-tadmoriyyah

32-Summarised and additions by Muhammad al-uthaymeen titled taqreeb al-tadmoriyyah, 144 pages 1414/daar ath-thurayaa

May Allaah assist the Salafiyoon in every khayr and may Allaah reward you Amr for posting all these wonderful books which are an encouragement for all the Tullab. Allaahumma Ameen!

As for Sharh at-Tadmuriyyah and al-Hamawiyyah of Shaykh Ibn ?Uthaymeen, the tapes for both are available on his official website, although unfortunately the recording quality is abnormally poor and often incomprehensible. Fortunately, the text of the book ?Taqreeb ut-Tadmuriyyah? is available for download from there as well.

As for book 25, I honestly have never heard of it myself and would like to know more about it. Is it possible that Shaykh ?Abdur-Rahmaan Aal ash-Shaykh wrote three different explanations of Kitaab ut-Tawheed?

yes. there is a mistake in the second name.
[25-explained by abd ur-rahmaan bin hasan aal-shaikh titled haashiyah]
it is actually by abd ur-rahmaan bin qaasim, not bin hasan.

Here is a relatively old (1999) yet very beneficial thread from Sahab in which the various explanations of Kitaab ut-Tawheed are listed and commented on:

In the following Q&A session, Imaam Muhammad Amaan al-Jaamee specifically mentions some books which a student of knowledge should memorize as well as some regarding which reading, studying, and understanding is sufficient:

http://www.sahab.fm/index.php?action=file&id=171

The discussion occurs about five minutes into the first side. The rest of the tape is also very beneficial - he addressed many topics, including a refutation of those who defend Hasan al-Bannaa by claiming that he took many Muslim youth out of the movie theaters and clubs, and that this is a sufficient indication of the success of his da'wah. The tape is called ?22 Questions About the Salafee Da?wah.? May Allaah reward the Shaykh and join us with him in the highest stations of Paradise.

To give an overview, the Shaykh was asked which books he advises a student of knowledge to read in the areas of ?aqeedah, tafseer, hadeeth and its science, and fiqh.

He specifically stated that a student should memorize and understand: (1) al-Usool ath-Thalaathah, (2) Shuroot us-Salaah wa Arkaanihaa wa Wajibaatihaa, (3) al-Qawaa?id ul-Arba?, (4) Shuroot Laa Ilaaha ila-Allaah, (5) Nawaaqid ul-Islaam, and (6) Kitaab ut-Tawheed (all by Shaykh ul-Islaam Muhammad Bin ?Abdul-Wahhaab).

As for (7) Kashf ush-Shubuhaat, then he said that if a person memorizes it, then that is good, but he did not stress it as with the above works. Also, he did not stress memorizing (8) al-Waasitiyyah, but instead said that a student can either memorize it or learn it and understand it well. He also mentioned that a person should study (9) the various treatises contained in Majmoo? Fataawaa Shaykh ul-Islaam Bin Taymiyyah (presumably al-Fatwa al-Hamawiyyah al-Kubraa, ar-Risaalat ut-Tadmuriyyah, al-Eemaan, etc, although he did not name names), and (10) Sharh ut-Tahaawiyyah by Ibn Abee al-?Izz al-Hanafee (d. 792) if he wants to expand his scope regarding the subject of Asmaa? was-Sifaat.

As for the other subjects, I do not recall him specifically saying that a student should memorize anything except for the one who desires to learn about the differences between the four madhaahib in fiqh. He said that it is befitting for such a person to memorize a matan (lower level fiqh manual) for each of the four madhaahib.

Just for extra benefit:

In the area of hadeeth, he mentioned: (1) al-Arba?een an-Nawawiyyah, (2) ?Umdat ul-Ahkaam, and (3) Buloogh ul-Maraam. Although he did not specifically say that one should memorize them, I have heard other Scholars (such as Shaykh Saalih Bin ?Abdul-?Azeez Aal ash-Shaykh) say that one should begin his course in hadeeth with the memorization and study of al-Arba?een. The more famous explanations for it are that of an-Nawawee (d. 676) himself, which is a very brief explanation for beginners, that of Ibn Daqeeq al-?Eed (d. 702), which is perhaps a middle-level explanation, and that of Ibn Rajab (d. 795), which is more advanced and thorough than the rest. The Scholars have also recommended that the more advanced and dedicated students should memorize and learn the other two: ?Umdat ul-Ahkaam and Buloogh al-Maraam by ?Abdul-Ghanee al-Maqdisee (d. 600) and Ibn Hajar al-?Asqalaanee (d. 852) respectively. Brother amr basheer discussed some explanations of al-?Umdah in another post, so refer to that. As for Buloogh, of course there is Subul us-Salaam of as-San?aanee (d. 1189) and another explanation by ?Abdullaah Aal al-Bassaam, which I have seen but not read. Perhaps there are others that I am not aware of ? surely our brother will address them in a later post, Insha?Allaah.

As for tafseer, he said that person should start with the tafseer of ?Abdur-Rahmaan as-Sa?dee (d. 1376), titled Tayseer al-Kareem al-Rahmaan fee Tafseer Kalaam il-Manaan, because its author is a well-known Salafee (and hence does not fall into the same ta?weel and mistakes of the other lower-level tafaaseer, such as al-Jalaalayn). He then said that if a person can find a Salafee teacher to guide him, he should study Fath ul-Qadeer of Shawkaanee (d. 1250) ? this is because the teacher will help him (a) be alert to some of the mistakes of Shawkaanee regarding as-Sifaat, and (b) help him with the more difficult aspects of the Arabic language that occur in the book. Finally, he mentioned Tafseer Ibn Katheer, stating that it is okay if a student studies from one of the various abridgements available nowadays (like that of ar-Rifaa?ee).

ya akhee Yoosuf,

There is a tape (translated) on www.troid.org, which is a Q&A session with the Shaykh. He (rahimahullah) answers the following question:-

What are the books you advise to read in 'Aqeedah, Tafseer and Hadeeth?

I dont know if it is the translated version of the above tape, but here is the link.

May Allaah reward the Shaykh and enter him into Jannah.
