I have a question concerning the "etiquettes of going to sleep". I have often heard it said that a person should not sleep with ones feet towards the Qiblah. However, I am not aware if this is a bid'ah or if there exist an authenic hadeeth which supports this?
I'm familiar with the sunnahs such as... making ablution, laying on the right side, etc., but I have found nothing stating that we shouldn't put our feet towards the Qiblah.
SubhanAllaah If I have over-looked something and if someone has the daleel to confirm or refute this issue, it would be appreciated.

Question: What is the ruling regarding the one who points his legs towards the (direction of the) Qiblah in the masjid? And is it permissible to eat and sleep in the masjid?
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله والصلاة السلام على رسول الله أما بعد
As salamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah
I have always been told from a young age not to sleep with my feet facing the Qiblah.
So, I asked the question to our noble Salafee Shaykh, Wasiullah Abbaas (hafizullah) who is a professor at Umm Al Qurra and gives duroos in the Haram in Makkah.
He replied that there is no problem with sleeping with your feet facing in the direction of the Qiblah.
as-salaam-u-alaykum, can someone please provide the evidence for the prohibition of lying on one's stomach for sleeping? Was-salaam Ya'qub Abu Hamza Gungadoo
