Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Bannah (hafidhahullaah) talked about this precise matter during his visit to Philadelphia, PA, in America. The shaikh (hafidhahullaah) said, | quote: |
"Allaah only accepts the deeds done purely for His sake. This was the call of all the Messengers, whether it was Ibrahim or Musa or 'Isa or Muhammad, 'alaihim u salam ajma'in. This is what they called to - to stay away from shirk and hold onto Tawheed, as the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa salaam) commanded us. You do not come to a person who just embraced Islam, and say, "you must come and make salat" right away and "you must have a beard" right away. Or for a sister who just embraced Islam, [you do not say to her] "you must wear the niqab" right away, or "don't drink liquor" right away. Rather, you teach them Tawheed first. All the Messengers called to that first. Therefore, we start with Tawheed, then what follows Tawheed is the rest of the correct religion. This was the way of the Messengers. This is the baaraka (blessing) of following the correct religion upon Tawheed. |

End of quote. So if we do not immediately teach those who just embraced Islam the salat until after teaching them Tawheed, then what about the disbelieving Christians? Due to the name of the section, it may be important to note that the poster does not in any way claim to be a student of knowledge. BaarakAllaahu fikum.
Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.
