Asalamu Alaykum Wa Ramatullahee Wa Barakatuhu,

Jazaakallahu Khayrin yaa akhee for your info about the Fajr Center.  It now seems that there is virtually nowhere for a marriage brother to take his wife with him a go learn the language.  On top of the is there in existence a Salafee arabic institute that is easy to get it??  Subhanallah if there was one and was easy to get in, I would be there.  It is so hard to get into the Universities etc...  If something better comes up I will take it otherwise.  If I'm just learning arabic and no deen then Inshaa'ALLAHU Ta'ala there will be no harm.  Also on top of this I'm planning to travel with a group of salafee's there so we'll have each other's back down there.  I just want to learn the language Inshaa'ALLAH and then go and study under some of the Uluma, Beeithneellah Ta'ala.  If they teach the language and I can learn and leave I'm in for sure and then out of there to go learn the deen elsewhere.  If you come to know of a place the has these following characteristics then please respond

1. Salafee arabic institute
2. Cheap living costs
3. Suitable for a family to live

I'm sure you won't be getting back to me anytime soon on this. Wa ALLAHU alam.  If you do, Alhumdulillahee rubil alameen

Was Salaam

Assalaam -u- alaikum wa'Rahmatullaahi wa'Barakatahu ya'akhi Aba Asiyah
and brothers and sisters on this list,

Insha'Allaah you are all well and in good eemaan.

Please find a reply below from Ustaadh Tarek An-Nawwam to the
email which was distributed by our brother Abu Aasiyah about Markaz
Fajr (and Qortoba).

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Message from QIAS:
------------------

Assalaam -u- alaikum wa'Rahmatullaahi wa'Barakatahu

JazakAllaah khairun to brother Abu Aasiyah for his feedback and
comments
about life in Egypt and studying in Cairo. Due to his previous
intimate relationship with Markjaz Fajr, it seems that he is best to
comment on them and I cannot say anything about that. May Allaah
guide us all to the straight path. Ameen.

However, I would like to add my comments and reply to what was said
about us.

First of all, jazakAllaah khairun to Abu Asiyah for mentioning us in
a reasonably good light. In particular, I would like to comments on the
following:

1) True, our program (the ibn Saud one) does take a long time
and does seem expensive when looked at as a whole. However, the actual
price of group tuition when divided hourly is US$ 1.5 / hour.
Private tuition is US$ 2.9 (and less) / hour.

For all your information, we will be re-designing this ibn Saud course
and splitting it over 12 levels. Each level will last 2 months.
Hence, the costs will be divided over 12 levels and will be more
'firendly' to the pockets and time of students insha'Allaah.

We also intend to add a grammar booklet using Alfiyyah ibn Malik for
(the new) Level 4 and above.

Please keep up to date with the web-page or pay us a visit Abu
Aasiyah.

2) Yes, our institute is small. Yes, when you came see us, some
of the walls were not that clean. We appreciate your comments and we
did then. However, at that time some cleaning needed to be done.

As for the size...then, yes we are probably the smallest institute
amongst the known ones  in Nasr City. Cairo. However, we believe
that has added to our friendly nature. Didn't you notice that from
our students?  I know you did.

For all your information, we are in the initial stages of looking
for a new (bigger) location. Nothing definite has been decided yet.
Please
keep
up-to-date with the web-site or pay us a visit.

3) Abu Aasiyah mentioned that I am a lawyer.

I USED to be a lawyer...and left that profession a long time ago.
When I opened Markaz Fajr in fact. I am currently completing my degree
in Arabic Language and Literature from Ain Shams University, Cairo.

4) The ease with which students can come to Egypt, stay here, extend
their
visas, and study for cheap...private tuition with us costs US$ 2.9 /
hour.

Where else will people go?

My intention here is not to open the door to further arguments. I
really don't have the time for that.

Please feel free to forward this email to Abu Aasiyah and post it on
the Salafitalk.net board and anywhere else.

Wa'Assalaam -u- alaikum

Tarek An-Nawwam

Barakallaahufeek yaa akhanaa Tarek, we ask Allah to accept your intentions and aid you in achieving them because indeed any change for the good will be a great benefit to the Salafi Ummah.

We are happy that you responded to our article.  By Allah our intention is not to discredit anyone or any center.  Our advice is for Allah, His Messenger and the Muslims even if that advice is against our love ones.  This is religion and indeed we have to stand before Allah.  We are pleased to here that you have intentions to improve your center because in some aspects you are a bit better than the Fajr Center and there is no doubt that there is a need for a well balanced official (approved by the Egyptian Ministry of education) Arabic center which is in conformation with the Manhaj of the Salaf.  So when and if we see those changes we will be delighted to advise the Muslims that your center is perhaps the only center that is committed to giving the students their rights and providing a good and well balanced Arabic program which does not contradict or goes against the legislations.  We are not in the business of discrediting or advising against places which are a great benefit to the Ummah.

By Allah one of your former students was just complaining about the ill treatments he received at your center during the summer program you had.  So we continue to look at the over all work you are providing and what all of the students are saying.  We do not want to do a point to point discussion about you and your center because this will require another article from us and we do not see the wisdom in doing that at this time since you have expressed the desire to make some changes.

We thank you for your response and we hope and pray that the administration at the Fajr center will follow your example and post their comments and inform the brothers and sisters at SalafiTalk of their future intentions and what among the things mentioned in the article they have changed, because just yesterday I received complaints from students and information on the ill treatments of students and teachers, not mentioning what they have done to me because of the article I wrote but this is not about Abu Aasiyah.  This is about truthfulness, justice and Salafiyyah.  So we continue to ask the Fajr Center, being that they and the Nile center are the only muslim, government approved centers within the Cairo area to improve themselves and make the students, teachers and the employees their priority, this is what we and all the students want and nothing else beyond that.  As for some people they want us to put a big lock over our mouths and refrain from advising our brothers and sisters.  They want us to sit back and see oppression and injustice and pretend not to have seen it.  We advised them in secret for three years during our times of studies with them and during our time of employment with them.  We will advice the people on that which we know and only fear Allah in doing so.  We are not prohibiting people from going to the centers but rather we tell them the reality of the centers so if they do decide to go there, they will have some what of picture of the place they will be studying at.  Shaykh Usaamah al-Qoosee preceded us a year ago in advising the people on the way of the Salaf not to attend these centers.  And you are aware of his views concerning you and the owners of the Fajr Center.  We ask Allah to correct ours, yours and Shaykh Usaamah's affairs and bring us together on the truth and the Manhaj of the Salaf.

as-Salaamu alaykum Yaa! Abaa Aasiyyah-

We agree with you 100% and we ask Allah to continue to decree for you to remain firm and 'JUST' on the Haqq. Wal humdullah I myself along with another brother from the U.K. { name withheld } were from the first to study at Qurtobah and what is well known is that during the time of Aboo Aasiyyah I also studied at the infamous Fajr centre so I am well aware of both centres and I haven't noticed one mistake in what our brother has written in regaurds to either centre. I ask Allah to allow for these centres to take heed to the advise of this brother who is well known for being a upright man on the correct minhaj if Allah wills.
