And Shaykh Abdul-Azeez Ibn Baaz also said about the Scholars of Madinah on the 28th of Rajab 1412H, "And our Brothers, the well known Scholars in Madeenah, we do not have a doubt about them. They are possessors of a sound aqeedah and they are from Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah, such as Shaikh Muhammad Amaan bin Alee, Shaikh Rabee' bin Haadee, Shaikh Saalih bin Sa'd as-Suhaimee, Shaikh Faalih bin Naafi', Shaikh Muhammad bin Haadee [al-Madkhalee] - all of them are known to us to have Istiqaamah, knowledge and sound aqeedah. We ask increase in every good for them from Allaah and success in what pleases Him. However the callers of falsehood (du?aat ul-baatil) and the people who hunt (others) in murky waters, they are the ones who cause confusion amongst the people and who speak in these matters and they say: ?The intent was this and that?, and this is not good."
Shaykh Ahmad an-Najmee was asked, during the dawrah in Jeddah on 25/5/1423H, "Is it correct that Shaykh Rabee was one of your students?". The Shaykh replied, "Shaykh Rabee' studied in the Institute, and I was also one who studied in the Institute, however Shaykh Rabee' is better than me, because he is a Mujaahid in reviving the Sunan and killing off the Innovations, and refuting the Innovators, and he has tasked himself for this matter, and we ask Allaah that he grants us all success in that which He loves and is pleased with."
"What is your view concerning the one who says that you have made Shaykh Rabee' into a Prophet?"
The Shaykh replied, "Shaykh Rabee' orders with obedience to Allaah and His Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam), and who is the one who said that he is a Prophet? The Salafees have not said about anyone that he is a Prophet and nor hav they venerated anyone (to this degree). These people lie upon them (i.e. upon the Salafees".
"There has appeared some oppositions from some of the brothers, and causing doubt about the Salafi Manhaj. One of them says that the sitting with Shaykh Rabee' causes the heart to become hard, and that the refutation of Shaykh Faalih al-Harbee against Aa'id al-Qarnee was on account of envy, and then he warns from the book "Madaarik un-Nadhar" and he also incites some of the youth, and distributes some cassettes that are by people who are not known, such as Abdur-Rahmaan al-Aa'id. So I said, "By Allaah, I will not greet you, and I will boycott you until you repent". So some of the brothers rejected this from me, and said that I am a mutashaddid (harsh, severe)".
The Shaykh replied, "I say that (you) are not a mutashaddid. And this person who speaks about Shaykh Rabee' and Shaykh Faalih al-Harbee, this person hates Salafiyyah, for these (two Shaykhs) are the heads of Salafiyyah".
"What is the correct position for the Salafi youth concerning those who revile Shaykh Faalih al-Harbee and consider him to be from amongst the mutashaddiddeen and mutasarri'een (the harsh, severe and hasty ones)?"
The Shaykh replied, "Reviling a scholar because he speaks against the Innovators, then this is actually a praise in the view of the Salaf (i.e. to speak against the Innovators). And those who make this claim by way of this thing that they consider to be a revilment (upon a person), then it is not something that is considered a revilement (i.e. refuting innovators is not a revilement upon the one who does it). And Shaykh Faalih al-Harbee is from amongst the Salafee Scholars whom we consider to be upon a great deal of good, and they themselves consider that they engaged in Jihaad against the people of hizbiyyah. Him (i.e. Shaykh Faalih) and those who are with him from the scholars, the mujaahideen in the path of Allaah. We ask Allaah that He grants us and them success." (End of QA session).
Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee said, "Shaykh Faalih is amongst the most knowledgeable of people of the Sunan and the Book and amongst the most knowledgeable of people of the Sunnah and the most knowledgeable of people of Ahl ul-Bid'ah in this time - according to what we have known of him, and entered upon him (i.e. to visit him) and sat with him, and been contemporaries with him, and heard from him. And he is amongst the most knowledgeable of people in al-Madinah an-Nabawiyyah, of the ways and paths of innovation, and the contemporary (innovated) methodologies, which oppose what the Salaf of the Ummah were upon, may Allaah the Most High be pleased with them. And anyone who says anything other than this is only one of two men. Either a Jaahil (ignorant) or an envious Kadhhaab (liar). And we seek refuge in Allaah from both of them. And the one who reviles Shaykh Faalih in this matter which he speaks about, and about his Salafiyyah, then in reality he is the one who is reviled in our view".

Imaam al-Awzaa'ee said, "Patiently restrict yourselves to the sunnah, stop where the people stopped, say what they said, avoid what they avoided. Take to the path of the salaf, for indeed what was sufficient for them was sufficient for you."
