Assalamu Alaikum
Need somemore clarity from my brothers of ilm.
In my country people who couldnt make it for hajj give the sarifice in 3 ways
1. wealthy more than 1 animal per household
2. some 1 animal per household
3. 1 share per household[cow or camel]

I as head of my household used to follow the 3rd catergory bcez I couldnt afford 1 animal, I with another 4/5 household share a cow. For last 2 years a brother who was living in Saudi for abt 15 years and met many ulemas used to say the 3rd catergory has no base, even in hajj its 1 per person. and the ruling on udhiyya and hadi are different. I met him many times and didnt get his evidence for his kalaam. But last jummah in his masjid he explained this issue clearly while he was giving sermon on hajj. His main evidence is in Muwatta Malik in Kitab al dahaya under chapter 309 sharing in sacrificial animals. it says Abu Ayyub al Ansari who said" WE USED to sacrifice a sheep on our own behalf and behalf of our whole household later on as a matter of pride each man began to sacrifice a sheep". He further said in usool al hadith when a shahabi says "we used to" it should be given priority and this is the sunnah of udhiyya.People[head of the husehold] who cannot afford an animal he should overburden himself. After listening to him I was comfortable with the evidence presented. But still some bro's argue that has its permitted in hajj for the hajis and some ulemas has given fatwas of the permissibilty in sharing out of Hajj.
Pls I need more clarity

IT SHOULD READ AS   " the head of the household should NOT OVERBURDEN HIMSELF"
iN MY EARLIAR POSTING I MADE an eror while typing by typing "SHOULD OVERBURDEN HIMSELF".
