Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, Barakallahu feekum ya ikhwan wa akhawat, I need to know the proper way to pray Salatul janaza with evidences from Sahih Ahadith and the actions of the Salaf. I would appreciate if someone gives me a link to a book or something which explains the proper way to pray Salatul Janaza.

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem, As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu: We have used the book, "Explanation of Important Lessons for Every Muslim" written by Shaykh Abdul-Azeez bin Abdullah bin Baz, raheemuhullah. The publisher of this particular one is Darussalam. Lesson 18 is Preparing the Dead Persons Body, Praying over him, and Burying him. To Summarize: Conditions of Praying over the Dead: (same as regular prayer) example: State of Purity, Awrah must be covered, Face the Qiblah Compulsary Elements: 1. standing if able 2. intention 3. Recitation of Faatihah or praising Allah 4. Sending blessings/peace upon the Prophet (sallAllahu Alayhe wa Salaam) 5. the 4 Takbeers 6. Supplication 7. final Tasleem How to Perform: 1. the body/bodies are placed in the direction of the Qiblah 2. Imam stands, followers stand behind in three or more Rows(Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa salaam said "Whoever has 3 rows pray over him, then it becomes neccessary (i.e. Paradise) Recorded by Tirmidhee who graded Hasan. 3.Worshipper raises hands intending to pray over the one who has died, saying "Allahu Akbar" 4. The Sahikh said that he should read al-Faatihah and then a short Surah. (ref to Hadeeth Bukhari/Muslim) 5. Takbeer, sending Peace/Blessings upon the Prophet 6. Takbeer, Supplicate for the Deceased 7. Final Takbeer 8. Now if u wish u can supplicate and then Tasleem to end the prayer, or the prayer can be ended after the 4th takbeer immediately, in both cases the Tasleem is said only once. From the Sunnah we know that the funeral prayer commences when the imaam says the Takbeer, then he recites Faatihah silently, next he sends blessings on the Prophet after which he supplicates for the dead, and then he ends the prayer with the Tasleem. Supplications There are many different wordings related from the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa salam regarding the funeral prayer and any one of them is sufficient. I wont include them here as it may get lengthy. I took this info straight from the book, (abbreviating to make it shorter) I hope I am not Plagerizing, but I only intended to help bi'ithnillah. I saw a link on google to a download of the book, but am not familiar with the site as being "salafee" so I didnt want to post it here. Umm Zahidah Anchorage, AK
Abu Hurairah (Radiallahu Anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alayhe wa Salam) said: "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except three: A recurring charity, knowledge that is benefitted from or a righteous child that
