Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakat
I came across the following Dua to be used for those people suffering from Illness. It is claimed the dua can be found in Sahih al Bukhaari and Muslim, can one of the students of knowledge please confirm.
"For the cure of any illness
Ayesha (R.A.) stated that when anyone among them had an illness, Prophet Mohammad ((sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).) used to rub the area of the pain reciting the following dua:
أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءٌ لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمَاً
"O Lord of the people, remove this pain and cure it, You are the one who cures and there is no one besides You who can cure, grant such a cure that no illness remains".
"Ayesha (R.A.) stated that when Prophet Mohammad ((sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).) was ill, he used to recite the four Quls, blow on his hands and pass them over on the back and front. He also recited these surahs, blew on his hands and passed them over his body during his fatal illness".

BaarakAllaahu feek brother. I'm not a student of knowledge, but I did find versions of the hadeeth an electronic copy of Saheeh al-Bukhari:
[ 5411 ] حدثنا عمرو بن علي حدثنا يحيى حدثنا سفيان حدثني سليمان عن مسلم عن مسروق عن عائشة رضى الله تعالى عنها أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يعوذ بعض أهله يمسح بيده اليمنى ويقول اللهم رب الناس أذهب الباس اشفه وأنت الشافي لا شفاء إلا شفاؤك شفاء لا يغادر سقما قال سفيان حدثت به منصورا فحدثني عن إبراهيم عن مسروق عن عائشة نحوه
[ 5351 ] حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل حدثنا أبو عوانة عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن مسروق عن عائشة رضى الله تعالى عنها أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا أتى مريضا أو أتى به قال أذهب الباس رب الناس اشف وأنت الشافي لا شفاء الا شفاؤك شفاء لا يغادر سقما قال عمرو بن أبي قيس وإبراهيم بن طهمان عن منصور عن إبراهيم وأبي الضحى إذا أتى بالمريض وقال جرير عن منصور عن أبي الضحى وحده وقال إذا أتى مريضا
And also in an electronic copy of Saheeh Muslim:
[ 2191 ] حدثنا زهير بن حرب وإسحاق بن إبراهيم قال إسحاق أخبرنا وقال زهير واللفظ له حدثنا جرير عن الأعمش عن أبي الضحى عن مسروق عن عائشة قالت كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا اشتكى منا إنسان مسحه بيمينه ثم قال أذهب الباس رب الناس واشف أنت الشافي لا شفاء إلا شفاؤك شفاء لا يغادر سقما فلما مرض رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وثقل أخذت بيده لأصنع به نحو ما كان يصنع فانتزع يده من يدي ثم قال اللهم اغفر لي واجعلني مع الرفيق الأعلى قالت فذهبت أنظر فإذا هو قد قضى
The first part of this narration from Saheeh Muslim seems to be the first hadeeth you mentioned, but it specifies using the right hand for the rubbing.
I found a number of other versions of this hadeeth that mention the same du'aa (perhaps about 10 in total from both books).
Regarding the second hadeeth you mentioned, I found these in Saheeh al-Bukhari:
[ 5419 ] حدثني عبد الله بن محمد الجعفي حدثنا هشام أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري عن عروة عن عائشة رضى الله تعالى عنها أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان ينفث على نفسه في مرضه الذي قبض فيه بالمعوذات فلما ثقل كنت أنا أنفث عليه بهن فأمسح بيد نفسه لبركتها فسألت بن شهاب كيف كان ينفث قال ينفث على يديه ثم يمسح بهما وجهه
And:
[ 5416 ] حدثنا عبد العزيز بن عبد الله الأويسي حدثنا سليمان عن يونس عن بن شهاب عن عروة بن الزبير عن عائشة رضى الله تعالى عنها قالت كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا أوى إلى فراشه نفث في كفيه ب قل هو الله أحد وبالمعوذتين جميعا ثم يمسح بهما وجهه وما بلغت يداه من جسده قالت عائشة فلما اشتكى كان يأمرني أن أفعل ذلك به قال يونس كنت أرى بن شهاب يصنع ذلك إذا أتى إلي فراشه
This second one mentions "Qul huwa Allahu Ahad" and the Ma'oodhatain (Sooratul-Falaq & an-Naas) but not Sooratul-Kaafiroon. This from Saheeh Muslim mentions "Ma'oodhaat." Perhaps other brothers can confirm whether this includes "Sooratul-Kaafiroon."
[ 2192 ] حدثني سريج بن يونس ويحيى بن أيوب قالا حدثنا عباد بن عباد عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه عن عائشة قالت كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا مرض أحد من أهله نفث عليه بالمعوذات فلما مرض مرضه الذي مات فيه جعلت أنفث عليه وأمسحه بيد نفسه لأنها كانت أعظم بركة من يدي وفي رواية يحيى بن أيوب بمعوذات

I hope one of the students of knowledge can help with this - baarakAllaahu feekum - regarding how this du'aa should be recited, is this correct:
"adh-hibi-l-baasa rabba-n-naasi, wa-shfi anta-sh-shaafee, laa shifaa'a illaa shifaa'uka, shifaa'an laa yughaadiru saqamaa"
Also, the word الباس ("al-baas") , should it be read: البأس ("al-ba'as") or "al-baas"? What's the difference between the two words?
