Topic: What's the use of highlighting the faults of the shia - Aaidh al-Qarni

Hamza-L-F    -- 07-04-2008 @ 4:12 PM
  Asalaamu 'alaikum

I wanted to bring to everyone's attention an article published today by Aaidh al-Qarni.

He writes in 'A [so-called] Word to the Wise in the Islamic Community', that
quote:
"since we have not been able to resolve the centuries-old dispute between the Sunnis and the Shias"
and since
quote:
"one cannot change the convictions of people even if they are invalid"
we (Sunnis and Shias) should, therefore,
quote:
"live together in peace".
He says:
quote:
"We ask the Shias to stop belittling, insulting, and finding fault with the Companions of the Prophet,"
But then queries:
quote:
"What is the use of arousing animosities and highlighting the faults and defects of the two sects?"
He mixes categories by using the bloodshed and killing taking place between the Sunni and Shia, presumably in Iraq though he does not specify, as a justification to seemingly cease the refutations of the Shia per se.

His call sounds alarmingly similar to the false compromise adopted by Yasir Qadhi, Abdur-Raheem Green et al., through the signing of that defeatist pledge with the Asharis, when he states:
quote:
"O Sunni and Shiite wise men, let each one follow his path and road until God is our judge."
Does this mean that since it is Allaah who will judge us we should thus cease "highlighting the faults and defects" of the Shia sect?

He continues:
quote:
"O Sunni and Shiite wise men, do not give the enemies of Islam the pretext to destroy the edifice of the ummah, rob it of its presence, eradicate its message, and insult its holy places."
And what about those enemies who insult Allaah, our Prophet ('alayhi salaatu wa salaam) and unashamedly insult and curse his companions; who immerse themselves in shirk, innovations, superstitious beliefs, and lies and deceit; and along with crocodile tears practice their bloody ritual of self-mutilation?

He ends his inexplicable advice with:
quote:
"If the brothers and sons of the same man do not resolve their problems and close their ranks before outsiders they will remain subject to animosity, division, failure, and defeat. Let us put aside fiery and hateful speeches and hollow, silly, and rash words. 'And holdfast, all together, by the rope that Allah stretches out to you and be not divided among yourselves' [Koranic verse, Al-Imran (The Family of Imran), 3:103]."

bismillaah walhamdulillaah wassalaatu wassalaamu alaa rasoolillaah wa ba'd

wa 'alaykum assalaam wa rahmatullaah

Jazaakallaahu khair for that.  Unfortunately we have people here in the states, who do not differentiate between the haqq and baatil, who recommend to the salafee sisters to read the books of this A'eed al Qarnee.  It is amazing that several years ago Imaam al Albaanee raheemahullaah refuted this daall (astray person) and even stated that the likes of him are no different than the raafidah!  Pay close attention particularly at the end of the shaikh's beneficial words:

Questioner: One of the students of knowledge in the lands of Najd (Saudi Arabia) said: "Whoever says I am Salafi" or "I am Tableeghi" and so on mentioning other groups, then he must be made to repent. And if he doesn't repent, then he is to be killed, as a hadd (Islamic punishment).

Shaikh al Albaanee: I don't think he said this.

Questioner: By Allaah, Shaikh, he said it, and here is a cassette recording, which confirms it. [Then the questioner plays the tape on which Aa'id Al-Qarnee's voice can be heard saying the following: "And know, may Allaah preserve you, that it is not permissible for anybody to make it obligatory for someone to follow one of the madhaahib. So whoever says to the people or to one amongst the servants (of Allaah: 'You are obligated to be a Hanbalee, or Maalikee, or Shaafi'ee or Hanafee', then he must be made to repent. And if he does not repent he is to be killed. And whoever makes it obligatory for one of the people to be Ikhwanee or Salafee or Tableeghi or Suroori ý he makes this an obligation ý then he must be made to repent and if he doesn't do so, he is to be killed. This is because Allaah did not name us anything but Muslims." Then the tape stops and the Shaikh comments.]

Shaikh al Albaanee: I don't think a scholar would say this. I don't think a person of knowledge would say something like this! [People laughing in the background] As for someone who is not a scholar, then it is possible that he can say such a thing or even worse than it.

Questioner: So what is your advice O Shaikh?

Shaikh al Albaanee: My advice to him is that he understands ý what is the meaning of (the word) Salafee? And I say to him now: "Are you absolving yourself from the Salaf??" He will say "No" if he is a person of knowledge. But if he is from oýne of those who doesn't know anything, he will say: "I just follow the Qur'aan and Sunnah." But how do you understand the Qur'aan and how do you understand the Sunnah? Do you interpret the Qur'aan, by means of the Qur'aan first, then the Sunnah second? What do we call this? This is an error. It is not permissible for us to say: "We interpret the Qur'aan by way of the Qur'aan, then the Sunnah." Rather, we interpret the Qur'aan by way of the Qur'aan and the Sunnah, together. This is since we absolutely cannot manage to understand the Qur'aan without the Sunnah. This is why I used to mention in some of my books that one of the evidences for rejecting the hadeeth of Mu'aadh Ibn Jabal, in which he said that Allaah's Messenger (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) ý as the hadeeth alleges - that when he sent Mu'aad Ibn Jabal to Yemen he said: "What will you judge by?" Mu'aadh said: "By the Book of Allaah." So he said: "And if you don't find it (i.e. an answer in it)?" He said: "Then by the Sunnah of Allaah's Messenger." So he said: "And if you don't find (an answer in) it?" So he said: "I will strive to come up with my own opinion." So the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "All praise be to Allaah who guided the messenger of Allaah's Messenger towards that which Allaah's Messenger loves." This is a munkar (rejected) hadeeth. Why? Is it correct, with regard to those who graduated from the school of Muhammad (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), as is commonly said nowadays, to differentiate between the Qur'aan and the Sunnah and to place the Sunnah with respect to the Qur'aan in the same position as the opinion with respect to the Sunnah? When does the scholar refer to his opinion (?) ý when he doesn't find an answer in the Sunnah. When does he refer to the Sunnah (?) ý when he can't find an answer in the Qur'aan. This is not correct. It is obligatory to combine both the Qur'aan and the Sunnah together because they both originate from oýne source. But this hadeeth gives the Sunnah a position of being under the Qur'aan, equaling it to the position of the opinion under the Sunnah. When does oýne exert himself to come up with his own opinion (?) ý when he doesn't find any answer in the Sunnah. When does he refer to the Sunnah (?) ý when he doesn't find any answer in the Qur'aan. This is wrong. The first oýne was correct. When does he refer to his own opinion (?) ý when he doesn't find an answer in the Sunnah. When does he refer to the Sunnah (?) ý when he doesn't find an answer in the Qur'aan. This is wrong. Why? Now we will ask a question concerning the dead animals of the sea. Are they Halaal (lawful) or Haraam (unlawful)? Allaah says:"Forbidden for you are dead animals." [Surah Al-Maa'idah: 6] So then we have found the answer in the Qur'aan, right? No, but we must continue to look, is there anything in the Sunnah that responds to this ayah and which restricts it? Yes, there is. So therefore the scholar actually has no choice but to combine between the Qur'aan and the Sunnah. So the matter is as Allaah's Messenger (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Do not let any of you sit reclining oýn his couch, saying: 'This is the Book of Allaah, so whatever of Halaal we find in it, we declare it to be lawful. And whatever of Haraam we find in it, we declare it to be unlawful (in exclusion of the Sunnah).' Indeed, I was given the Qur'aan and something similar to it along with it. Indeed, what Allaah's Messenger has made forbidden is just like what Allaah has made forbidden " Therefore, there is no way one can ever divide between the Qur'aan and the Sunnah. So whoever says: "We will interpret the Qur'aan by way of the Qur'aan and then the Sunnah", this person has come about due to this munkar hadeeth. Rather, we only interpret the Qur'aan by means of the Qur'aan and the Sunnah, together. Furthermore, if we don't find a tafseer (interpretation) of an ayah in either the Qur'aan or the Sunnah, we turn back to our righteous predecessors (the Salaf As-Saalih), especially the Companions, who were spoken the words of Allaah directly by the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam). And also... In my opinion, the least that can be said (about this person) - and I don't know the level of his knowledge - the least that can be said is that he is heedless of this fact. And in reality this is a severe negligence on his part, especially since he issued that harsh ruling afterward - that whoever doesn't repent is to be killed. So give him the glad tidings that I still insist that I am a Salafee - upon the Book and the Sunnah and upon the methodology of the Salaf as-Saalih. And whoever doesn't adopt this manhaj (methodology) then there is no difference between him and the Raafidah. And no doubt, so long as he is in the lands of Najd, and there is (no difference) between him and between the Raafidah, this is the same as what Al-Hadaad did.

Questioner: And we are with you O Shaikh!

Shaikh al Albaanee: May Allaah reward you.

Adnaan Aroor Calls Us To Abandon Warning Against Those Whose Disbelief And Falsehood Is Well Known To The Salaf And Khalaf Of This Ummah

Sheikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:

It is obligatory to punish everyone who ascribes himself to them (the people of innovation) or one who defends them, or who reveres their books, or who detests that they should be talked about, or who begins to make excuses for them by saying he does not understand what these words mean or by saying that this person also authored another book and what is similar to these types of excuses, which are not made except by an ignoramus or a hypocrite..... [Source: Translated by www.salafipublications.com: (Majmoo-ul-Fataawaa, 2/132)]

Sheikh Saaleh al Fawzaan (hafidha-hullaah) said:

O people! Fear Allaah (ta-aalaa) and know that enjoining good and forbidding evil is from the greatest characteristics of the believers and its abandonment is from the greatest characteristics of the Monaafiqoon.  Allaah (ta-aalaa) said:

'The hypocrites, men and women, are from one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief and polytheism of all kinds and all that Islaam has forbidden), and forbid (people) from Al-Ma'roof (i.e. Islaamic Monotheism and all that Islaam orders one to do). 9:67

And Allaah said:

'The believers, men and women, are Auliyaa (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Maýroof (i.e. Islaamic Monotheism and all that Islaam orders one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islaam has forbidden); they perform As-Salaat (Iqaamat-as-Salaat) and give the Zakaat, and obey Allaah and His Messenger. Allaah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allaah is All-Mighty, All-Wise'. 9:71

Enjoining good and forbidding evil is from the greatest means to obtaining victory and peace in the earth.  Allaah said:

'Verily, Allaah will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allaah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.  Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) order for Iqamat-as-Salaat [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salaat (prayers) (the males in mosques)], to pay the Zakaat and they enjoin Al-Ma'roof (i.e. Islaamic Monotheism and all that Islaam orders one to do), and forbid Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism and all that Islaam has forbidden) [i.e. they make the Qur'aan as the law of their country in all the spheres of life]. And with Allýh rests the end of (all) matters (of creatures). 22:40-41

Enjoining good and forbidding evil is from the greatest means to (obtaining) safety and (prevention) of punishment.  Allaah (ta-aalaa) said about Bani Israa'eel:

'So when they forgot the remindings that had been given to them, We rescued those who forbade evil, but We seized those who did wrong with a severe torment because they used to rebel (disobey Allaah). 7:165

Allaah said:

'If only there had been among the generations before you, persons having wisdom, prohibiting (others) from Al-Fasaad (disbelief, polytheism, and all kinds of crimes and sins) in the earth, except a few of those whom We saved from among them. 11:116

[Source: khutbah Mimbariyyah, vol:2, page:404-405]

So this adnaan aroor (may Allaah guide him) wishes to turn the Muslims away from warning against the evil raafidah, whose affairs of shirk, disbelief and falsehood is well known to the ulema of the salaf and the khalaf.

Allaah (subhaanah) said:

'O you who believe! Answer Allaah (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life, and know that Allaah comes in between a person and his heart (i.e. He prevents an evil person to decide anything). And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered. 8:24

Ismaa'eel Bin Abdur Rahmaan (H127) said about the above ayah: it is Islaam; it gave them life after they were dead through disbelief. [Source: Al-Fawaa'id of Ibnul Qayyim: page: 140]

Indeed, the Raafidah are dead due to the many affairs of shirk and disbelief they have with them. Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baz (rahimahullaah) said:

'The coming together of Ahlus-Sunnah and the Raafidhah is not possible because the beliefs are different. The Belief of the Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah is to single out Allaah alone with worship and sincerely making worship for Allaah, The Most Perfect, The Most High, and not to call upon anyone along with Him, neither an Angel drawn close nor a Prophet sent.   And it is Allaah who knows the matters of the Unseen. And from the belief of the Ahlus-Sunnah is love of the Companions, may Allaah be pleased with all of them and He is pleased with them ý and to believe that they are the most excellent of the creation of Allaah after the Prophets, and the best of them is Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq, then 'Umar, then 'Uthmaan, then 'Alee, may Allaah be pleased with all of them. And the Raafidhah oppose this, so there is no reconciling between the two [beliefs], just as there is no reconciling between the Jews, the Christians, the idol-worshippers and the Ahlus-Sunnah. So for this reason there is no coming closer between the Raafidhah and between the Ahlus-Sunnah due to the differing beliefs as we have clarified.'(Translated by Abu Khadeejah)

Sheikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:  The nifaaq and zandaqah (found) with the raafidah is more than that which is (found) with all the sects/groups.  Rather, it is inevitable that every single one of them has an aspect of nifaaq.  For indeed, the basis of the nifaaq that is founded upon lying, is that a man utters with his tongue that which is not in his heart just as Allaah has stated about the Munaafiqoon.  The raafidah consider this to be from the fundamentals of their religion and name it taqiyyah, and they relate this (on behalf) of the leaders of ahlul bayt, whom Allaah freed from (all) of that.   [Source: Minhaajus Sunnah 2/46]

Sheikh Saaleh al Fawzaan (hafidha-hullaah) said: In reality, they (the Rafidah) are actually from the JEWS, they manifested Islaam but acts of disbelief appeared from them, and at the end, their rulers actually claimed uloohiyyah (divinity), such as Al-Haakim al-Ubaydi.

Sheikh Muhammad Bin Ibraaheem (rahimahullaah) said:  The trusted scholars of the ummah have never ceased to revile them (the Rafidah) in their deen and their genealogy, and they mention that they are from the offspring of the magians or the jews. [source: www.salafipublications.com : Kash ush-Shubuhaat: The Eleventh Study, Page 10-11]

We ask Allaah for protection against the satanic suggestions of this man and those similar to him.

Should the tapes of Aaidh al-Qarni be destroyed? I know that he has been refuted by the Ulema at various times. Has anyone declared him to be a Mubtadi whose books and tapes should be destroyed and he should be warned against?

JazakAllaah khayr
