In Defense of ash-Shaykh Muhammad al-'Anjaree (حفظه الله) against the unfounded accusations that have been brought against him and his da'wah - by ash-Shaykh Ahmad as-Subay'ee (حفظه الله)

This is Shaykh Ahmad as-Subay'ee's response to some accusations that have been made against Shaykh Muhammad al-'Anjaree and some of the points of contention that the Salafee's have with Jam'iyyah Ihyaa' at-Turaath al-Islaamee, the jamaa'ah of 'Abdur-Rahmaan bin 'Abdul-Khaaliq.

ash-Shaykh Aboo Muhammad Ahmad as-Subay'ee (حفظه الله) said:

quote:

All praise is due to Allaah, and may salaat and salaam be upon the Messenger of Allaah and upon his family. To proceed:

So indeed the accusations have reached me, that have been directed towards a noble brother, and an outstanding shaykh, and I don not like that I continue to describe him, complimenting him and praising him due to knowledge-based, shar'ee reasons, known by the People of Deen, and the prohibition. And the disparagement is not followed by a shred of evidence that shows the correctness of this criticism, nor does it mention any statements or actions that malign the integrity of ash-Shaykh Muhammad [al-'Anjaree] and his deen.  So I saw to be a shar'ee obligation upon me in this affair (some) issues:

The first of them:  the protection and defense of our da'wah in front of some accusations that are general and devoid of evidences.
And the second:  Acting upon his statement ? صلى الله عليه و سلم- "Aid your brother whether he is an oppressor or oppressed." (1)..
So I say:  Indeed ash-Shaykh Muhammad al-'Anjaree ? may Allaah keep him firm ? is known for the Sunnah, and known for his sincerity towards the da'wah of Ahlus-Sunnah and his jihaad upon it, and I do not purify him above Allaah عز و جل.  And from the characteristics of this man is: frankness and clarity, (both) absolute and which remain and is not suitable for many of the people of this time in which flattery has spread, and courtesy has become fashionable, and self-interests and personal desires have become excessive, even in the matters related to the Deen.

So this noble brother ? and I do not purify him above Allaah عز و جل ? gives the people sincere advice (naseehah), and clarifies the madhhab of Ahlus-Sunnah and warning from the Islaamic political groups, so, by Allaah's praise, love for him took hold in the hearts of Ahlus-Sunnah, and hatred for him took hold in the souls of the followers of the jamaa'aat and their followers ? may Allaah عز و جل guide them.

And the Shaykh said:

quote:

And from this attack [upon Shaykh al-'Anjaree]: is that this noble brother is upon the madhhab of the 'Ulamaa' who see that the jamaa'ah of 'Abdur-Rahmaan 'Abdul-Khaaliq ? well-known today by the name of Jam'iyyah at-Turaath al-Islaamee ? it's condition is the same condition as the other jamaa'aat al-Islaamiyyah that follow the path and principles of the jamaa'ah of al-Ikhwaanul-Muslimeen.
And I believe the correctness of the belief of this Shaykh here.  And from what will show you the correctness of that is what is recent:  a joint declaration by this jamaa'ah [Turaath], spread in the newspapers that we have, along with the Ikhwaanul-Muslimeen, on one complete page, both thanking in it the executive and legislative authorities, as they are called.  And that was for approving the law that warps the obligation of Zakaah ? like the action of the Jews in stoning the fornicator ? by changing the Hukm of Allaah-  عز و جل-  in regards to it, and made obligatory upon the people the modern-day method, well-known in the lands of the kuffaar as taxes, without distinguishing and without differentiating between one type of wealth and another, along with the option of the mukallif to pay it as Zakaah or in those things that are of general benefit, even to the extent that the law includes non-Muslims or those who don't want to pay it because it is Zakaah. ash-Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan حفظه الله تعالى said:

quote:

"Yes, it is obligatory to clarify the danger of at-Tahazzub and the danger of dividing and splitting so that the people be upon baseerah, because even the common folk now have been beguiled by some of the jamaa'aat - they think that they are upon the Truth. So we have to clarify for the people, the educated and the common folk, the danger of the groups and parties and sects because if they (the scholars) remain quiet, the people will say 'the 'Ulamaa' knew about this and they remained quiet about it ',  so misguidance enters from this door.  So there must be clarification when the likes of these affairs (splitting, hizbiyyah, etc.) pop up.  And the danger for the common folk is more than the danger upon those who have knowledge, because the common folk, with the silence of the 'Ulamaa', think that this is correct and that this is the Truth."
