  salaamun 'alaykum

Jazaakallaahu khayran Moosaa for that beneficial info. A brother here at our masjid who is from France said that when he was sitting a gathering in which Aboo Bakr Al-Jazaa'iree was speaking, a Salafee brother that he knew came and pulled him out of the gathering. He told him, "Don't you know that you can't sit in this gathering? Haven't you heard that this man is not Salafee?" The brother (his name is Abdul-Malik) replied that he had never heard that before. So the other brother who was warning him told him that Shaikh Faalih Al-Harbee had informed them that Abu Bakr Al-Jazaa'iree advised some brothers from Algeria that they should work with Jamaa'atut-Tableegh there (in Algeria) and go out with them. Then he married two of his daughters to major callers to Tableeghi'ism - so the story goes. So shaikh Faalih warned the brothers against him.

I just wanted to ask Moosaa one thing about the translated statement here. I noticed the Shaikh said,
و ذلك من جهله و لتخبطه

But in the translation you put "and that is due to his ignorance and his takhat-tub (excessive public speaking)"

did the Shaikh say takhat-tub or takhab-but?

It's a minor translation/editing thing, but I think takhab-but means playing around going back and forth. Like in the hadeeth of the du'aa: "و أعوذ بك أن يتخبطني الشيطان
Ibn Al-Atheer said in An-Nihaayah, pg.8, vol. 2, "أي يصرعني و يلعب بي
"meaning to frighten me and play with me."

I'm just checking because it says that he said takhab-but and you wrote in the transliteration takhat-tub

  Assalaamu 'Alaikum

I confirm that Sheikh Aboo Bakr Al-Djazaa'iree praises Djamaa'at At-Tableegh. He came here in France two or three years ago and we thought he would have a firm salafi position towards the tableeghee. But when he made public praise of their efforts we were very disappointed and the Tableeghee would say to us : "Look ! Even Aboo Bakr Al-Djazaa'iree praises our manhaj. So what do you say ?". It was indeed a great mihnah, wallaahu-l-musta'aan.

Wassalaamu Alaikum

  GOOD EYE maa shaa' Allaah

Yes - baarak Allaahu feekum - that was oversight on my part...  It makes a lot more sense now.  I read it as:

تخطب

for some reason!  And I had a problem understanding it when I translated it, and thats why I left it in arabic and put the translation in parenthesis.

What you said is correct, jazaak Allaahu khayran.

Moosaa

I'll edit it above so that if anyone copies and pastes it, it will be correct.

Was the entire statement concerning Aboo Bakr Jaabir al- Jazaa'iree by Shaykh Faalih Al-Harabee, may Allaah preserve him, ever translated by brother Abul-Hasan?  If so, is it available to be posted insha'Allaah?

SubhanAllah, That line about the "Moving Aids Hospital" is about the funniest thing I have ever heard a shaykh say. I remember when it was first posted, I laughed "out loud". I hope the shaykh was smiling when he said it. Abul Hasan Yusuf Al-Nebraski
