The following was taken from Sahab.com ما رأيكم في "تفسير الجلالين"؟ السؤالما رأيكم في "تفسير الجلالين"؟ الجواب تفسير الجلالين" تفسير مختصر ألفه الحافظان: الحافظ المحلي والحافظ السيوطي، وكل منهما يلقب بجلال الدين، لذلك سمي بالجلالين، أي: تفسير جلال الدين المحلي وتفسير جلال الدين السيوطي؛ لأن جلال الدين المحلي توفيَ قبل إكماله فأكمله السيوطي. وهو تفسير مختصر جدًا يسهل على طالب العلم أو المبتدئ قراءته أو حفظه، لكن من المعلوم أن كلا المفسرين على عقيدة الأشاعرة وهما يؤولان آيات الصفات كما هو مذهب الأشاعرة، ومن هذه الناحية يجب الحذر في الاعتماد على تفسيرهما في آيات الصفات. فتاوى المنتقى / ج2 الشيخ صالح بن فوزان الفوزان Question: What's your view on the tasfeer of Al Jilaalain? Answer: Tafseer Jilaalain, is an abbreviated tafseer that was authored by the two Hafizes (Memorizers) Al Hafiz Al-Muhli and Al Hafiz As Sayooti. And they both have the nick-name Jilaalu Deen. For this reason (this book of tafseer) is called Al Jilaalain. (The two Jilaals)Meaning, the tafseer of Jilaalu Deen Al Muhli and the tafseer of Jilaalu Deen As Sayooti. Because Jilaalu Deen Al Muhli died before he was able to finish it, therefore As Sayooti finished it. And it is a very condensed tafseer, such that it is easy upon the student of knowledge or easy for the beginner to read or memorize. But, It is known that both of the explainers of this tafseer were upon the aqeedah of the Ash'arees, and they both interpreted the verses about the attributes (of ALLAH) in the way consistent with the creed of the Ash'arees. So from this point of view, it is incumbent to warn from confirming their tafseer when it comes to the Attributes.
