Having just spoke to his family, they have informed us that Sheikh Muhammad Abdulwahhab Marzooq al-Banna has just died in his home in Jeddah just before salaatul 'Asr 24/11/1430 12/11/2009 rahimahullaah rahmatan waasi'ah inshaallaah we will let you know where the janaza will be later. This is to let you know to attend the janaaza which maybe tonight or tomorrow inashaallaah. Inna lillaahi wa inna ilaihi raji'oon Abdulilah Lahmami قال تعالى:{إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر وإنا له لحافظون} قال الشيخ السعدي - رحمه الله - في تفسيره (3/31): " فلا يحرف محرف معنى من معانيه( القرآن ) إلا وقيض الله له من يبين الحق المبين وهذا من أعظم آيات الله ونعمه على عباده المؤمنين".

alhamdulilah we prayed over the sheikh at maghrib time and the masjid was full mashaallaah, the sheikh was buried in Thamer district Jeddah. He will be missed rahimahullaah. He died at 94 years old. It was always pleasing to him him as we would pass by him at gate 94 in the haram. May Allaah reward the brothers who came all the way from Madinah to attend his funeral. As Salaamu 'Alaykum, Bismillah, As-Shaykh Rabee' bin Haadee al-Madkhalee said today, 26th Thul Q'adah, 1430, after his Sciences of Hadeeth class: "As- Shaykh Muhammad al-Banna was Salafi in his 'Aqeedah, Manhaj and Call to Allah. He and I would spend time together calling to Allah in al-Madinah. Muhammad al-Banna faced much harm while calling to the Salafi Manhaj, but that never detered him..." As-Shaykh Rabee' mentioned much more than that, but this is what I remember clearly. He also closed by making a nice du'aa for the Shaykh. A personal story of mine pertaining to as-Shaykh Muhammad al-Banna is when he visited as- Shaykh Rabee's house. I was somewhat new to Saudi and didn't understand 'Arabic very well. So as-Shaykh Rabee' left the floor for as-Shaykh Muhammad al-Banna to speak. When the Shaykh (Muhammad al-Banna) began to speak, he began with Khutbah al-Haajah. I looked at the Shaykh (Muhammad al-Banna) while he was delivering Khutbah al-Haajah (1) and I could see him pondering over the verses of the Qur'an very deeply. Mashaa Allah, this has had an effect on me to this day. I learned from him when we recite verses from the Qur'an, we should try our best to ponder deeply. I guess this fact is well known, but sometimes when you see someone actually doing it, it has an effect on you. It did on me. May Allah have mercy on the Shaykh and enter him into Paradise. Ameen.
