  As salaamu alaykum akhee.

JazakAllaahu khayran for the beneficial pdf. I had a question though.

It says on the footnote on pg 1 "see Ad-Da'eefah of Sh Albaanee rahimahullaah." So, does that mean that this narration is weak? Does Ad-Da'eefah of Sh. Albaanee rahimahullaah have only those narrations which the Shaykh researched to be Da'eef in his opinion?

If anyone on this forum has some info regarding this please reply. JazakAllaahu khayran.

wa salaamu alaykum,

Shaikh al-Albaanee -rahimahullaah- in his book of weak and fabricated ahaadeeth :'Silsilatul-Ahaadeethid-Da`eefah' declared a longer version of the hadeeth ,reported by at-Tirmidhee (no.2926) to be weak (da`eef). Then whilst discussing its chains of narration he quoted the briefer version as a hadeeth of Hudhayfah-radiyallaahu `anhu- with the wording:''Allaah -the Most High-says:

Whoever is preoccupied by remembrance of Me from asking of Me then I will give to him before he asks me.'' (Reported by Aboo Nu`aym in 'al-Hilyah' (7/313).

Shaikh al-Albaanee then comments upon its narrator Aboo Muslim `Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Waaqid, and says:

''I say: He was declared reliable by Ibn Hibbaan, and Ibn `Adiyy said: 'He narrated narrations deserving criticism (manaakeer) from reliable narrators, and he used to steal ahaadeeth.'  And al-Haafiz [i.e. Ibn Hajr] said:'Sadooq (generally acceptable; he made mistakes.'

Shaikh al-Albaanee concluded: ''I say: The rest of the narrators of the chain are reliable, narrators used by the two shaikhs [i.e. al-Bukhaaree and Muslim], so the chain of narration would be hasan (good) in my view, if it were not for what is to be feared with regard to `Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Waaqid's having stolen the hadeeth or having made an error in it, and Allaah knows best.''

Translated by Aboo Talhah Daawood ibn Ronald Burbank. May Allaah reward him. Aameen.
