Topic: Shaykh Ibn `Uthaymeen on the One Who Believes in Evolution

Shaykh Ibn `Uthaymeen (rahimahulLaah) asked about the belief that the origin of mankind is from apes that changed over time into humans, whether this is correct or whether it contradicts what has come in the Qur'aan.

The Shaykh responded:

This saying is not correct, I mean the saying that the origin of mankind is (from) apes, however the one saying this is in reality an ape, disfigured in (his) intellect, and disfigured in his insight. Hence, it is befitting that we call him an ape, he is not a human, even if he is in the form of a human...
