As-Salaamu'Alaikum wa'Rahma tu'Llah, The Prophet (sal'Allahu'alayhe wa salaam) said, "All of you are guardians and are responsible for your wards. The ruler is a guardian; the man is a guardian of his family. The lady is a guardian and is responsible for their husband's house & his offspring and so all of you are guardians and are responsible for your wards." Bukhari vol.7 #128 The question I'm touching on is that the part of the hadith that mentions "...their husband's house & his offspring," does this mean the husband's children from a prior marriage that are under his care due to the mother of the children re-marrying, or is she not responsible for them, is she only responsible for her children (the child or children that they share by marriage)? Baarak-Allaahu Feekum - wa sal-Allaahu wa-sallam 'alaa Nabiyyinaa Muhammad, was-Salaam 'alaykum wa-Rahmatullaahe wa-Barakaatuh.
