  Assalaamu-alaikum,

1) What is classified as a mushaf? Is it the Arabic only Qur'an or can translated versions be classified as mushaf as well? I asked a brother this question and he said it was the ARABIC ONLY text that is classified as a mushaf. However, I would like a bit more detail on this as translated versions of the Qur'an which have both the Arabic and the English text, are they not classified as a mushafs? Can we give non-practising Muslims and kuffar a copy of the Qur'an which contains both the Arabic and the English text (The Noble Qur'an)? Or can we only give them the ENGLISH ONLY Qur'an?

2) Does Jum'ah have to be performed in a masjid where the 5 daily salahs are held or can it be performed anywhere as long as there's the appropriate number of people to make up the jama'a?

Ibn Umar (RA) said: "Every innovation is misguidance, even if the people see it as something good." Reported by Abu Shaamah (no. 39)

Imam Sufyaan ath-Thawree (R) said:"Innovation is more beloved to Iblees than sin, since a sin may be repented from.
