Topic: Doubt on Bid'ah

  Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaah.

Could any of the brothers give the daleel for the alowence/order to phisically write down the hadeeth, in the time of the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam, and after?

Since there is a doubt being created by some individuals in our community saying same old thing about Bid'ah, that "if we are saying Bid'ah (innovation) is wrong then the chair is a bid'ah, these books of hadeeth and the Mushaf were not there at the time of the Prophet so they are a bid'ah, the car is a bid'ah, etc."
then they say "OK if innovation in the religion is wrong, as for birthdays, etc are not in the religion so they are OK."
So how are we to refute this?

We need a detailed/comprehensive study on this (also urgently) so if anyone knows of any articles etc. please let me know.

Jazakumullaah khair
Wassalaamu alaikum
Aslam

  1) Do not listen to these individuals anymore as they are seriously confused and actively spreading their confusion.  If you see them, put your fingers in your ears.

2) See http://salafipublications.com/sps/sp.cfm?subsecID=BDH02&articleID=BDH020003&articlePages=1 for some help from Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen in understanding the issue, specifically parts 4-7 should be very helpful.

  Jazakallaah khair.

There is no doubt what you say is correct.

The article you point to are a good & sufficient clarification.

The people I'm talking about are not people of even little knowledge, or the so called "scholars", what I mean is they are the normal layman, the ordinary muslim who has just started to hear about Bid'ah, and who don't have a good understanding of what it is. Are these people treated in the same manner?

Jazakallaah khair once again.
