Topic: Important! Confused about Shayk Ibn 'Uthaimeens statement

  Assalaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh.

I found this audio statement of Ibn 'Uthaimeen (Rahimahullaah) where he is critisizing the group who calls itself "salafiyyoon". He also critisizes the way this group deals with  the other groups (at least thats what I understood from reading the translation). He says that you should not call yourself salafiyyoon but rather an adherent of Salaf as-Saalih. What is more confusing is that he counts as-Salafiyyoon as one of the modern groups like Ikhwaanul muslimeen and Tableegh. Could anybody explain this?

It should be known that I found this on a Jihaadee site so could they have quoted the shayks speech out of context? They referred the article back to the shaykhs website but it's in arabic.

If there is a brother or sister with knowledge of arabic and deen then please  explain to me.

Baarakallaahu feekum.
