Assala mu Alaikum A brother asked me to post a question on his behalf. He told me a young brother is interested in the salafi da'wah, however he is unsure wether the da'wah is correct, due to some things he has heard about Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab (Rahimahullah) and his da'wah. The question is: " How do we refute the claim that Imam Muhammad ibn Abdil Wahhab rebelled against the Ottoman Khilafah, thus resembling the khawarij, who rebel against the rightful muslim ruler on account of a sin? " He would like a good answer from one of the knowledgable brothers, so he could pass it on to this brother. Barrak Allahu feekum

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir Raheem As-Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakatuhu, Just a brief side issue that may be of benefit to the brothers and sisters: Our father and Sheikh Saalih Ibn Fawzaan ibn Abdillaah Al-Fawzaan was asked the following question: Question [33] Is the Dawah of the Sheikh: Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab a Dawah to Islaam based on Hizbiyyah like the Ikhwaanul Muslimeen and Tableegh? And what is your advice for the one who says this in his speech and propragates this in his books? Answer [33] I say that verily the Dawah of the Sheikh Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab [rahimahullaah] is upon the Manhaj of the Salafus-Saalih in its Usool [foundations] and its Furoo3 [branches]. The intent from it is not to be prejudice or biased to a group or party except what Ahlus Sunnati wal Jamaa'ah was upon from the past and that which it is upon today. As for Jamaa'atul Ikhwaanil Muslimeen and [Jamaa'atul] Tableegh and this Jamaa'ah and that Jamaa'ah then we invite all of them to return from their Manhaj to the Qur'aan and the Sunnah of the Messenger [sallalahu alayhi wa salam] and to the guidance and understaning of the Salafus Saalih with their attention directed towards that [i.e. the Quran and Sunnah and the Fahm of the Salaf]. So what is in agreement with that, then Alhamdulillaah and what is in opposition to that then verily the mistake is to be corrected or rectified. And this is what we call to.
