  as-salaamu 'alaikum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh,

See here for Fatawaa regarding the Qur'aan: http://www.qurancomplex.com/qfatwa/tree.asp?TabID=5&SubItemID=2&l=eng&SecOrder=5&SubSecOrder=2

Maashaa'Allaah, the website (www.qurancomplex.com) also has A LOT of other beneficial information related to the Qur'aan. And it comes in 7 languages too, it seems ('Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Espanol, Indonesian, and Hausa).

One unique feature is A Verse and A Saying where some verses & ahadeeth are quoted along with some commentary. I believe these change often - after a number of days. See below for an example.

May Allah reward all those behind the site and the Scholars and Rulers of the Kingdom of Saudi 'Arabia. Ameen.

quote:

Allah [may He be Glorified] said: "It is He, Who shows you His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and sends down (rain with which grows) provision for you from the sky. And none remembers but those who turn (to Allah in obedience and) in repentance (by begging His Pardon and by worshipping and obeying Him Alone and none else." (40:13)

Commentary:

Allah [may He be Glorified] mentions His great Blessings upon His servants by clarifying the truth from the falsehood. This is achieved through showing His servants signs in themselves, in the horizons and in the Glorious Qur'an, signifying every thing they ask about and distinguishing guidance from deviation so as not to leave any pretext for anyone. Thus those who were to be destroyed (for their rejecting Faith) might be destroyed after a clear evidence, and those who were to live (i.e. believers) might live after a clear evidence. The more significant the question, the more the strength and the multiplicity of the evidence is. For example, the issue of monotheism is the most important issue and thus the legal and discretionary proofs are numerous regarding it. The proofs regarding the issue of monotheism varied and Allah set a lot of parables and multiplied the inferences.

Another great sign was also mentioned in the verse when Allah [may He be Glorified] said: "and sends down (rain with which grows) provision for you from the sky" i.e. rain by the means of which you obtain your provision and that of your animals.

So, all the blessings are from Allah. These blessings are of two types:

The blessings of religion, which include the religious questions, the proofs that support them, and subsequently acting according to them.

The worldly blessings: such as the blessings brought forth through rain.

All these signs are crystal-clear proofs that Allah, the One and Only, should be worshipped sincerely and that He is the Only One that provides the blessings and graces.

Then, Allah mentioned that none remembers these blessings and take admonition from the signs except those who turn in repentance to Allah, to His love, His fearing, His obedience and to the humiliation of oneself before Him.

See Tafsir Ibn Sa'di, p.680. (Al-Luwaihiq Edition).

The Fruit of Repentance to Allah

Allah [may He be Glorified] said:
 Qaf (50):8
ÊóÈúÕöÑóÉð æóÐößúÑóì áößõáøö ÚóÈúÏò ãøõäöíÈò

An insight and a Reminder for every slave turning to Allâh (i.e. the one who believes in Allâh and performs deeds of His obedience, and always begs His pardon).

quote:
Commentary:
This verse came after the following two verses:
  Qaf (50):6-7
ÃóÝóáóãú íóäÙõÑõæÇ Åöáóì ÇáÓøóãóÇÁ ÝóæúÞóåõãú ßóíúÝó ÈóäóíúäóÇåóÇ æóÒóíøóäøóÇåóÇ æóãóÇ áóåóÇ ãöä ÝõÑõæÌò  ¤  æóÇáúÃóÑúÖó ãóÏóÏúäóÇåóÇ æóÃóáúÞóíúäóÇ ÝöíåóÇ ÑóæóÇÓöíó æóÃóäÈóÊúäóÇ ÝöíåóÇ ãöä ßõáøö ÒóæúÌò ÈóåöíÌò  ¤

Have they not looked at the heaven above them, how We have made it and adorned it, and there are no rifts in it? And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants).

There is an indication to the fact that what is observed in the universe of accuracy and strength are concrete proofs of the perfection of Allah's Might [may He be Glorified].

The wonderful design and creation of the heavens and the earth point out that Allah is the Wisest of all judges and All-Knowing.

Moreover, both the heavens and the earth contain a lot of benefits for the people, which denotes the comprehensiveness of Allah's Mercy and His great Generosity and Grace. They also point out that Allah is the One and Only Master, without Whom all the creatures cannot dispense, He has neither partner (wife) nor child, there is none equal or comparable unto Him. He is the Only One to Whom worship, humiliation and love must be dedicated.

The verse refers to the fact that pondering over these signs gets man out of ignorance and formulates a remembrance of that which benefits the Muslim in his religion and in his world, and of what Allah and His Messengers brought to us. The above-mentioned results however cannot be achieved except through repentance to Allah, by having sincere love for Him, fearing His punishment, wishing for His reward and responding to the invitation of His Messengers. As for those who turn away from contemplating these verses, then neither proofs nor warners benefit those who believe not.

See Tafsir Ibn Sa'di, p.747. (Al-Luwaihiq Edition).

Question:  How can I observe memorization of the Holy Qur'an?

  Answer :

Praise be to Allah Alone, and prayers and peace be upon the last Messenger Muhammad.

There are many methods that can help you observe your memorization of the Holy Qur'an, such as repeating it, reciting it too much, sticking to truthfulness and sincerity, having the will to memorize and understand it and supplicating Allah (Glory be to Him) and asking Him for His blessing, along with avoiding sins and repenting to Allah (Glory be to Him).

May Allah grant us prosperity. Peace and prayers be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions.

  From TROID.org:

quote:
[Q]: I read Qurýaan regularly but I do not understand its meanings. Will I still be rewarded by Allaah for that?
quote:
Shaykh 'Uthaymeen رحمه الله replies:

... How can it be right for anybody not to understand and ponder its meanings? Hence the Companions, may Allaah be pleased with them, would not move on to the next ten aayaat until they had understood and put into practice the previous passage ...

See the full answer here
Insha'Allaah, learning even just a bit of the Arabic Language can go a long way to help one understand the Qur'aan. [Edit: But of course, one needs a good understanding of the language as well as the tafseer of the Scholars upon the path of the Salaf-us-Saalih to have a more complete, good understanding safe from errors.]

Also, since a great number of the words in the Qur'aan are repeated, if one were to read the translation of the meanings [the version by Dr. Muhammad Taqiuddeen al-Hilaalee, and Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan] sometimes when one recites (or listen to those Qur'aan recitations in which the interpretations are also recited), then insha'Allaah, one would easily learn the meaning of many of the words used in the Qur'aan.

  Download the Madeenah Mushaf
- In Arabic only
- Can be used to search Arabic words/phrases
- Apparently, any selection of verses can be extracted in different fonts, colors, etc into MS Word, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Note: It may not work at the first few tries, but insha'Allaah, it should eventually work. (Perhaps, after restarting the computer.)

Maa shaa'Allaah, the "A Verse and A Saying" feature on
QuranComplex is always beneficial. [Clicking on "next" or "previous" in both
the Qur'anic Verse & Hadeeth sections displays even more verses & hadeeths.]

May Allah reward the brothers behind the site.

Saadiq.
