Asalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh, I just wanted to clarify what exactly is the correct belief in Islam regarding those who will dwell in the HellFire forever... This ties into the question of a Mushrik vs a Kaafir... It is evident that Allah does not forgive Shirk and that the mushrikeen will thus dwell in the HellFire forever, wa 'audhubillah min thaalik. However, what about the kaafir who let's say did not make partners with Allah? Is it possible for a kaafir to have tawheed? Maybe this person is from the people of the Book who rejects the trinity and its likes. We also know that Allah does not accept but Islam as a religion, thus the deeds of such people will not be accepted. But again, what if such people have some eeman, some tawheed within their hearts... does this mean that they will eventually be taken out of the Fire? I also refer to this hadeeth: Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 2 :: Hadith 42 Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "Whoever said "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a barley grain will be taken out of Hell. And whoever said: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a wheat grain will be taken out of Hell. And whoever said, "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of an atom will be taken out of Hell." To summarize my question, is only Tawheed the determinant of a person's ultimate salvation, or is there more... barakAllahu feek

Bismillaahirrahmaanirraheem, It is a must that the second testification be made - i.e.: "Ashhadu anna Muhammadarrasoolullaah" As evidenced by the following hadeeth: "By Him in whose hand Muhammad's soul is there is none from amongst the Jews and the Christians who hears about me and then dies without believing in the Message with which I have been sent, but he will be from the dwellers of the hellfire." [Saheeh Muslim; The Book of Faith Vol 1, No 240] wallaahuta'aalaa a'lam wasallallaahu 'alaa Muhammad
